Convective drying of the wood, which received the most widespread in the industry, is carried out in a specially built and heated rooms - drying chambers. The process is conducted in a gaseous medium: in heated air or superheated steam at atmospheric pressure.
The positive features of a drying - high intensity of the process, the possibility of its control over a wide range, to achieve a final moisture content of any wood, the possibility of drying throughout the year regardless of the state of atmospheric air, and the destruction of fungal infections and insects in the wood-heated. Due to the high speed such drying eliminates the need for large areas for storing timber at atmospheric drying.
